A deity feel in your everyday wardrobe. Who does that kind of thing? Well what do you know, ISIS does it.
Just as how the Egyptian goddess represent, ISIS presents a fashion show that truly owned by all types of ladies. its signature style remain intact, an edgy look, out of ordinary look blending in the casual wardrobe. However this time, Isis lead the show with literally showcasing the versatility its designs into all types of body.
Here is my quick digging about the true purpose of the new collections. With ISIS very own designer, Amot Syamsuri Muda.
GlamorockV (GV): Your collections are surprisingly full of pastels colours, why?
Amot Syamsuri Muda (A): This time we really experiment with the palette. Mineral elements set the pace for this unusual palette where soft green and sycamore mingle with brown and glazed ginger. baby pink feminize neutral grey and beiges white hight contrast of black and white clarify. on top of those we splat hight contrast of strong purple. Just trying to give something that felt new and fresh without being too edgy or extreme, yet keeping the feel of this collection cool, urban and feminine.
GV: If isis was a girl, and she was a public figure in indonesia, who would it be?
A: ISIS is everyone. each individual is different and uniqe. we take different inspirations form different individual. and blend it together, i guest thats the reason why isis is unique, u know?
GV: What is your favorite look so far that you have made for isis?
A: That would be hard. i don’t think i’m able to choose one. it’s all my work, if i have to choose one, then the rest wont be considered as “work” right?
GV: From all the woman in the runways, why did you decide to put in real public figure and plus size model?
A: Good question!. Why not? fashion has to be accessible to everyone. i love women, that’s my job to make them feel good about themselves through my work. being a designer is simply no different from being a doctor, surgeon, or scientist – we are here to make others feel better. About the public figures, if you notice there’s only Divas that walk on the last show. there’s a funny reason behind it. on the first segment of the show we shown more girly looks and towards the end of the first segment we saw them turning in to woman, thats why we put the “divas” as surprise. After all the transformation from a girl to a woman, apparently is not enough, you need to be A DIVA!.
GV: In Indonesia there seems to be a trend for designers to make a line for hijabers. Do you and Andrea ever have a vision of a special line for muslim attire?
A: i think hijabers is all about styling. As you can see, the clothes that ISIS makes are pretty loose fitted. It’s actually about combining different attires, don’t you think?
So actually hijabers can go and buy a top or pants from ISIS then combine it themselves. At the moment, we don’t have a plan on making a line specifically for a Muslim attire.
The Collection’s Trends
The palettes are definitely brings new fresh look for ISIS since its last collection. Never leave its natural style of strong, full of characteristic women, its cutting are all well thought for leaving the basic form of casual clothes.
>> Draping Drama
The halterneck dress type goes beyond usual by the draping details from front pockets, no less. completed with black orange stripe patterned collars, somehow goes well with pink and purple mixed altogether. Finished it with the shoes, which apparently style with a cutout socks that made a boots siluet, yet a rebel since since it is put over it, not in.
Check out this drapery skirt that speaks more volumes but always fun to have it for a statement look by putting it together with a simple top, or a crop top which become a must have basic for 2013 apparently.
>> Get Plain, No Game
The patterns are amazing. it is somewhat reminds me how the 50’s and 60’s style mixes with the current edgy cutting.
Isis proves every women could flaunt this collections, in every body type. This proved by literally using everyday women who is love to look dressed up to divas to walk the runway.
Involves Ruth Sahanaya, Titi Dj, Titi Rajo Bintang, Melly Goeslaw, and performance by Indonesian Jazz Musician, Dira Sugandi, proud walking so chic in Isis runway.
